A Song to Mourn

"A voice is heard in Ramah,
weeping and great mourning.
Rachel weeping for her children
and refusing to be comforted,
because they are no more."

there are sadnesses both great and small in life and words, no matter how we try, are of little use in trying to relieve people's pain.

should it be different?

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any troube with the comfort we ourselves have recieved from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows."

Even though most of us can't verbally or physically touch those personally impacted by this tragedy in VA we can pray. Pray that the question I keep hearing on the tv "where is God in all of this?" is answered by believers who are in close contact with the bereaved and by the Holy Spirit ministering. Tragedy and pain touches us all in some way, thank God we have His Comforter.

His Presence is, in fact, the only thing that helps.

I heard a song by ? (it is right on the tip of my tongue) the chorus goes like this

Just love them like Jesus
Carry them to him
His yoke is easy
His burden is light
You don't need the answers to all of life's questions
Just know that he loves them and stay by their side
Just love them like Jesus...

Casting Crowns-that's the group

This song is the perfect reminder that we don't always have the answers but God does. Sometimes we just need to be the connectors. Thank you God for using us to carry things to you through prayer when others can't.
