Friday's VOTD

James 1:27 (TLB) 27 The Christian who is pure and without fault, from God the Father's point of view, is the one who takes care of orphans and widows, and who remains true to the Lord--not soiled and dirtied by his contacts with the world.

If we have to come in contact with the world on a daily basis..contact being very physical and personal .. then how do we remain clean and therefore true to our Lord?

PMike isn't stumped, he is on vacation. I am sure that he will respond when he returns.

We have to have contact with the world or how will we lead people to Christ. The important thing is to keep your focus on God always. But stop and think for a moment sometimes our contact needs to be direct because we have a lesson to learn ourselves. Think you can't learn something from someone with mental illness, an alcoholic, a druggie, a murderer, etc... You might be surprised. God works like that sometimes. You sometimes learn things that change your whole perspective. Love them. God loves us and we are not perfect. Some people don't know that they can be saved and that our sins were paid for by Jesus. Our job is to tell the world what Jesus has done in our lives. And yes that takes very physical and personal contact but if you remain focused on God you will remain clean and true. You won't be influenced by things that cause that focus to become blurry. That is what I think this verse is saying.
